July 29, 2009 Just wanted to let everyone know that due to winds and rigging new motors, we haven't fished but one day since last thursday. We tried to spanish fish yesterday, but only managed 2 in the slop and murk. We shark fished for the last half hour or so of the trip, and did catch one small hammerhead around 45 lbs. The good news is that we have replaced the 225 optimax's with 200 verado's. With these engines, we have gained around .3 mpg, but have lost 7 kts on the top end, which is no big deal since I rarely run over 30 knots. It is nice to actually be able to hear yourself think while running and fishing. Let's just hope the new motors raise fish like the old one's did. I'm kind of going to miss the opti's. They've been good to me the last year, running almost 1,000 hours, and raising countless thousands of fish. It's time to get the Verado's trained as soon as the wind let's up.

| June 22, 2009 Went back to the horseshoe today on a 3/4 day charter. Once again, the bite was on fire for the first little while. As soon as we got the spread out, both downrigger's went off. Double header of king mackerel. As the guys were fighting them, we drifted by a log, and both surface baits went off. Double header of mahi-mahi. 4 fish on at a time in the first 10 minutes after we slowed down. As soon as I would put a fish in the box, I would sling another bait back out and immediately hook back up. Final tally for the day: 4 king mackerel and 10 mahi-mahi. I've got a half day trip tommorrow, so stay tuned.

| July 21, 2009 I went back to the horseshoe today. This morning, the king bite was on fire for the first little bit, then died out. I as getting ready to make a move when I saw a bill behind one of the pogies. Just a second later, it was on. This was one mean sailfish, battling us on the 20 lb. live-bait tackle for over an hour. After snapping a couple of pics, we were able to revive the fish and released it to fight another day. The total tally for the day was 8 king mackere, one sailfish release and another in the spread, and one mahi-mahi. The weather couldn't have been any better.
Capt. Lyndon

| July 17, 2009 The fishing continues to be excellent. Kings, mahi and sailfish at the horseshoe and sharkhole, spanish and sharks on the beach. The kings are anywhere from 8 lbs, on up, the mahi from 10 lbs on up, the spanish 1-4 lbs. and the sharks averaging aroun 30 lbs. We are catching blacktip, lemon, hammerhead and blacknose sharks. If you want the trip of a lifetime, give us a call to book today.

| July 7, 2009 The king mackerel bite continues to be excellent. This morning, we caught a limit of nice fish, including one 33.45 lbs. and another around 25. We also released a few fish. This afternoon, the wind switched around to the east and shut the bite down. We did manage on king at lighthouse rock and one spanish on the beach.

July 5, 2009 The king mackerel bite continues to be great. We fished the Horseshoe today, catching our 15 fish limit with 3 dolphin mixed in. The fish were biting on both pogies and cigar minnows. The quality of the fish continues to improve as well.

June 29, 2009 We went back to the horseshoe today with great results. We started out pulling live bait, but wasn't getting bit real hard, so I switched a couple of livies out for dead cigar minnows, and it was on. The king mackerel were hitting the cigar minnows within 30 seconds of hitting the water. We also had 2 15-18 lb. mahi and 2 slinger mahi. Total tally for the day: 18 king makerel and 4 mahi. My customers are supposed to e-mail me pics, so I'll post them when I get them. We're heading back again tommorow, so stay tuned.

| June 28, 2009 Today, we were headed to the gulfstream, but due to a big swell, we decided to stop at the horeshoe and fish for a while. The first bait in the water got smoked by a king mackerel. This pace continued for the next 2 hours. As I was changing baits for the last couple of passes, we hooked a sailfish. 20 minutes later, we released this beautiful creature to fight another day. We also had a school of 8-10 nice cobia follow a king to the boat, and hooked 3, landed 2. We left the shoe around 10:30 and headed to the break. We worked the blackjack and 100/400 for a couple of hours with no luck, then finished up the day bottom fishing. Total tally for the day: 8 king mackerel, 2 cobia, 2 grouper, and a sailfish release.

June 22, 2009
The mahi and king mackerel bite has been great at the shark hole lately. The kings are small, averaging around 8 lbs, with the mahi averaging around 10-12. The Spanish are still thick on the beach, with some large sharks in the same general area. The fishing is red hot right now, so give us a call and let’s go fishing.
Capt. Lyndon
|
June 17, 2009 The bite continues to be off the hook. The spanish are chewing hard on the beach, with the kings starting around 5 miles offshore. There are quite a few dolphin and cobia mixed in with the kings, with a few sailfish starting to show in the same areas. The grouper continues to be good from 80 ft. on out. The bait is still thick in the waterway. Give us a call to get in on the insane fishing we have going on right now.
Capt. Lyndon
|
June 12, 2009 While the dolphin bite in the gulfstream has slowed down a little, being great one day and non-existint the next, inshore, the bite is nothing short of on fire. The dolphin have moved in from 60 ft. of water on out. "The spanish bite is still awesome on the beach, with the king mackerel chewing great alongside the spanish. The kings are chewing in most of there typical summer time haunts, and the sailfish shouldn't be far behind. The pogies are thick not only on the beach, but also in the waterway all along Holden Beach. The grouper bite is great in 80 ft. of water on out with the b-liners from 70 ft. on out. There are also alot of cobia mixed in with the kings. The fishing is on fire, so don't wait to schedule your charter. Give us a call today.
Capt. Lyndon
|
May 27, 2009 The spanish bite is good on the beach. I had a half day charter this morning, and we had 34 decent spanish. We were fishing anywhere from 20-30 ft. of water off of Holden Beach. I'm taking my daughter this evening, then another half day in the morning. Stay tuned.
Capt. Lyndon

May 16, 2008 Today, I ran the Sea Hag out to the gulfstream. The dolphin bite was pretty good, but no wahoo to be found. We did however release our first sailfish of the year, a beauty at 69". On the nearshore front, the king bite is great from 50 ' ft of water on out, and the grouper bite is good in 90' on. The fishing just continues to improve, so give us a call to book your trip today.

May 1, 2009 Well, the wind finally laid and let us fish a few days the past week. The gulfstream fishing is great right now, with good catches of dolphin, wahoo, and large blackfin tuna. We have also had a white marlin in the spread. This is a great indicator of things to come for the billfish. Bottom fishing, we have had some great catches in 80-120 ft. of water. Large black bass, grunts, b-liners, as well as an American red snapper. On the beach, the spanish bite is warming up, with the first few king mackerel showing up at the shark hole, as well as Yaupon reef. As the water warms, the bite will only get better. Now is the time to go, so give us a call and let us take you on the adventure of a lifetime.

Hello everyone. I"m back from HI, and back fishing off of Holden Beach. The seabass bite is good from 50 ft of water on out, and the king mackerel bite is as good as it gets around Frying Pan Tower. I've commercial fished 2 days in the last week or so, and caught around 60 king mackerel each day. In the gulf stream, the dolphin are showing up, and there continues to be a steady wahoo bite. Hopefully the yellowfin tuna will make a showing in the next couple of weeks. We are geared up and ready to go, the fishing is as good as it gets, so give us a call and let us take you on the trip of a lifetime.

Feb. 15, 2009 Sorry I haven't been able to post in a while. I am currently fishing on a commercial fishing boat, as well as doing a little bit of mating on charter boats, out of Kona, HI through May 1. However, we do have Captain''s available for charters while I'm gone. We will try to keep everyone up to date on what's happening in Brunswick County as well. I'll try to post some pics of our tuna and marlin action from time to time. We are running 7-8 day trips out of Kona, fishing anywhere from 130-250 miles offshore targeting big-eye and yellowfin tuna. We have had a little bit of blue marlin action as well. Our tuna are anywhere from 20-125 lbs. Everryone have a great late winter, and I'll post more reports from the Pacific as time allows.
Capt. Lyndon

December 30, 2008 Well guys, the tuna bite finally fired off today down this way. There were app. 20-25 boats fishing, with 11 or 12 fish killed that I know of. Capt. John(QB)Quattelbaum and I lucked up and killed 2 today, an 81" that cored at 251, and a butter ball 74" that cored at 212. Our first hook-up came at 9:00, along with several other boats hooked up as well. Our second bite came at 11:00. It's always great when you can catch giants in your back yard. Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to blow for a couple of days, so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the fish will still be here when the wind lays again. Congratulations to every one here and in MHC that killed fish today. Capt. Lyndon

December 17,2008 Today I went commercial king mackerel fishing with my good friend Capt. Ryan Williams. We went straight to the tower, and as soon as the drone spoons hit the water, we had a double header. We had a pretty steady pick of 4-10 lb. mackerel for the rest of the day. The grand total was 78 fish, and 478 lbs. As long as the water stays over 64 degrees, the excellent king fishing will continue. Most folks think the king fishing is over by thanksgiving, but it is just getting good. As far as numbers go, our best fishing is late fall/early winter, and then again in early to mid spring. Tired of cabin fever? Give us a call, we have the perfect cure. I'm hoping to make at least one more trip before Christmas, but if not, I'll be back at it right after. I'll keep everyone informed as to what is happening.

December 4, 2008 I have teamed up with Capt. Jon and Amanda Tennant for the giant bluefin tuna season in Morehead City, NC this year. Our season started yesterday. We pulled all day with not so much as a sniff. Finally started marking bait at the end of the day. This morning we started well before first light were we marked the bait yesterday. At 7:00 Am sharp, the deep rod bounced and went to screaming. FISH ON!!!! After an hour and a half fight, we sunk the steel in a 89" bluefin. The fish cored out at 312 lbs. What a way to start the season. Tommorow we'll be back at it again. We'll let you know what we do.

November 17, 2008 Yesterday, we made a commercial king mackerel trip. Started out at the Horseshoe. It wasn't 10 minutes after we put the spoons in the water, it was on. We had 23 head, in between 8 and 18 lbs. in the box by 11:00. The bite died there, so we pushed offshore about a few miles and put them back in. We worked the line of rocks starting about 8 miles inshore of Frying Pan Tower, all the way to the tower. We managed 13 more by 4:30, as well as 26 false albacore, then headed for the hill. All in all, not to bad of a day. We're going to try it again on Thursday, as well as try for a bft for a couple of hours first thing in the morning. Going past the knuckle buoy on the way out, it looked good. Gannets, bait and porpoise's everywhere. Who knows, our number may just get called. This front that is pushing through this evening may just fire it off. Capt. Lyndon
|
November 15, 2008 Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted a report in a while. The king mackerel bite has been decent in 70 ft. of water on out, with some gag grouper in the same area's. The red grouper bite has been good on the east side of the shoals in 90 ft. of water on out. There should be some wahoo in the stream, however no one has been able to make it lately. The bluefin tuna should be here any day now. Capt. Lyndon
|
August 14, 2009 The spanish bite continues to be great in 35-40 ft. of water. The king mackerel bite is good in 60 ft. of water on out, and the grouper bite is good from 95 ft. of water on out. Don't forget about the upcoming South Brunswick Isle's king tournament here at the marina labor day weekend. The fall fishing is just around the corner, so be sure to book now to make sure we have your day available.

July 25, 2008
On this morning’s trip, we headed to the 10 mile rock, where we found a great king bite. Unfortunately, most were undersized. We caught 8 or10, with only one legal to keep. That’s the way it goes sometimes. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew or action on a half day charter. This afternoon, we started at Christina’s Ledge and worked our way out to about 70 ft. with only one king and one barracuda to show for it, so we began to work our way back in. A friend called from Christina’s Ledge and said the kings were beginning to chew, so we headed back over there. We weren’t there 15 minutes when we put our second of the day in the box. The first line back in got nailed as well. This went on for the next hour. We ended up with 8 or 9 kings. The weather was absolutely perfect, and looks like it will stay that way for a while.
Capt. Lyndon

July 22, 2008 Today, we went to AR 445 to try and catch a king fish or barracuda. Upon arriving, we saw spanish mackerel jumping everywhere, so we decided to change plans. We put the clark spoons out and within 5 minutes, we had a double header. The action continued for the rest of the morning with numerous double and triple hook-ups, until the tide went slack at high tide. From then on, we just picked at them. We ended the day with 34 nice spanish. It was a great trip, and as the water continues to clear, the spanish will continue to move back in on the beach. The pogies where just east of the inlet this morning. Capt. Lyndon
|
July 19, 2008 The kingfishing continue's to be excellent from 60 ft on out, with an above normal number of sailfish mixed in, as well as a few cobia and dolphin. Last Saturday we released another sail, this one at the 24 mile rock. I'll post the pictures as soon as they are e-mailed to me. Before the tropical storm came through, there were a few spanish on the beach, and quite few big sharks just offshore. We have a few trips this week, so stay tuned. It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the fishing after the storm.

July 6, 2008
Friday, we headed back out to the shark hole in search of king mackerel. The king bite was really slow, but as I was in the process of changing out baits, the double pogy in the prop was went to screaming. At first I thought it was a smoker king, until it began tail walking. SAILFISH ON!! We cleared the other lines and gave chase, as we had the fish on a light tackle live bait outfit with 20 lb. line. After a 30 minute fight, we released a beautiful 57” sailfish in great condition. On Saturday, we headed to the gulf stream. We put baits in just short of the 100/400. Right before we arrived at the structure, we saw a beautiful rip right in front of us. On the inshore side of it, we released a small barrucuda, on the offshore side of it, we put a small bull dolphin in the box. We worked the rip for a while with no other hook-ups, then trolled up the break toward the blackjack hole. About 3 miles short of the blackjack, the shotgun line went to screaming. This fish ran like crazy. I thought we had hooked into a 50+ lb. wahoo, but when the 25 lb.’er came to the boat, I saw why it fought so hard. It the hook buried in his jaw, but the line was wrapped around his tail. We trolled for a little while longer and the planer bait went off. It wasn’t long before the fish showed it’s self. BIG dolphin. After a good 15 minute fight, the 30 lb. bull was on ice and we were back trolling. It wasn’t long before we another small dolphin in the boat, and released a couple more ‘cudas. We also had a sailfish come up behind a bait, but couldn’t get him to eat, as well as a couple more wahoo bites that shook the hook. All in all, a pretty good day. Here are some pics from the last couple of days. Capt. Lyndon

June 2, 2008
The fishing was kind of strange today. We started at the Atlantic Ledge, and caught one barracuda, so we headed on offshore to the Gary Ennis, an artificial reef in 90 ft. of water, where we caught one Amberjack as soon as we pulled up. From there, we headed inshore to the 26 mile rock, caught one king and had a couple more short strikes, all in the first 10 minutes, then nothing for the next half hour. Headed to the 22 mile rock, exact same situation. We went to the Sharkhole next, caught 3 kings real quick, then not another bite. I talked to a couple of friends, and they said they had the same problem, bites as soon as you put baits in the water, then nothing else. Oh well, everyone one had a great time, so what more can you ask for. Tommorow is another day, so we’ll see what happens.

July 1, 2008
After the big blow that we’ve had the last few days, the seas finally calmed down enough today for us to get back out. I fished the shark hole this morning, and caught a handful of small kings, with only one being big enough to boat. This afternoon, we went to the Atlantic Ledge. We started out bottom fishing, and caught a bunch of undersized beeliners, and lost a couple of grouper in the rocks. While bottom fishing, we saw a couple of kings sky up, so we decided to troll for a while. First bait in the water, BAM fish on. While fighting it, part of the party starting feeling bad, so they decided to come back in. I heard through the grapevine that there some nice dolphin caught at the ledge this morning, so we are going go back out there in the morning. I’ll let everyone know tomorrow night what we do.

June 24, 2008 Everyone at Holden Beach Sportfishing Charters and Holden Beach Marina would like to offer our condolences to the family of Scott Hewett. For those of you who haven't heard, Capt. Scott lost his life on Saturday during an extreme thunderstorm while fishing the Jolly Mon King Classic. Scott was a great friend and all around great guy. You couldn't be around him for long before you realized how much he loved fishing. He always had a mile wide smile and a funny story for you. Scott, you will be sorely missed.

June 24, 2008
Due to the recent rains, the Spanish mackerel have left the beach, however the kings are biting very well in the 65 ft. depths. The grouper bite continues to be good from 90 ft. on out, and there are some dolphin in 65 ft of water on out to the break. There have also been some kings around lighthouse rocks and the 390/390. The fishing is good, the weather is great, come on down and go with us.

June 10, 2008
Well folks, the Spanish mackerel bite continues to be hot on the beach, while the king bite has slowed a little bit, go figure. The pogies show up in force, the kings disappear. However, the first sailfish inshore of the gulf stream showed up today. I had a ¾ day charter targeting dolphin, so we went to the horseshoe. We caught a few small dolphin, one king, several Spanish, and had a sail-dog “window-shop” in our spread, but couldn’t get him to eat. A good friend of mine hooked one on a pogy at the shark hole, but unfortunately busted him off. It’s only a matter of days before it will be worth targeting sail at the usual inshore hot-spots. There continues to be an above average blue-marlin bite in the stream, with quite a few gaffer dolphin and nice wahoo around as well. The fishing is as good right now as it’s been in several years. If you’ve been waiting on the right time to take a trip, this is it. Give us a call to book your trip today.

The fishing the last few days has been nothing short of on fire. The Spanish and shark action on the beach continues to be awesome. The pogies have shown up in force off of both Holden Beach and Oak Island. There are some kings on the beach, as well as in the 65’ depths, on out to 100 +’ . The dolphin are moving to the 80 ft’ depths, as are the grouper. In the blue water, there is still an awesome gaffer dolphin bite, with a few wahoo and blackfins mixed in, as well as a few blue marlin and sailfish showing up. I have several pics on my camera from the last few days, but left it on the boat. I will post the pictures tomorrow night. Congratulations to Glen Godfrey and crew for their 52 lb. wahoo caught yesterday, as well as the crew of the Bossea, out of Holden Beach marina on their nice catch of dolphin and a wahoo yesterday. On Friday, we ran the Sea Hag out to the Blackjack. We caught several nice dolphin and a beautiful red grouper. Wednesday and Thursday were spent Spanish and shark fishing, with outstanding results. On Saturday, Holden Beach Marina hosted Take A Kid Fishing. We had over 25 youths on board 6 boats. Every boat caught numerous Spanish, and all the kids had a great time. Today, I had family in from out of town. We went back Spanish and shark fishing, Once again, we killed the Spanish, as well as released a 5’ shark. The fishing is as good as gets, so now’s the time to book you summer trips.

June 2, 2008 This weekend I fished the Bald Head Island Fishing Rodeo on the Sea Hag with Rick Niesler. On friday, we weighed in 3 nice dolphin and the largest wahoo of the tournament, a 47 lb'er. We also had several dolphin that didn't make the 15 lb. minimum weight. On saturday, we caught several more dolphin and a small wahoo, but didn't have anything to way, however we did end up finishing in sixth place overall, and had the largest wahoo of the weekend. I'll post the pics tonight. On the nearshore front, the spanish are extremely thick on the beach, and the kings are in the 65 ft. depths, with some dolphin mixed in at 80ft. The weather's great, as is the fishing, so come on down and take a trip with us. Capt. Lyndon

Thursday May 22, 2008 Well everyone, the summer season is almost here. The spanish are on the beach, the sharks shouldn't be far behind. The kings are in the 65-80 ft. depths, and the grouper are in 80+ on out. The dolphin are thick in the stream, with a few wahoo and blackfin mixed in. Be sure to book your trips early to make sure that we have openings when you want to go. Everyone have a safe and happy Memorial Day. Capt. Lyndon

Saturday May 17, 2008 Tom Vicars and crew aboard the BIrd Dog headed south to the Winyah Scarp today for some good blue water action. The dolphing bite was on fire. They tried to high speed troll to catch a wahoo or tuna, but couldn't keep the dolphin off the lines. Congratulations Tom on an awesome day. The bluewater fishing is nothing short of world class, and the nearshore fishing is awesome as well. Come on down and take a trip, and let us show you what fishing is all about.

May 10, 2008 I fished day one of the far-out shoot out out of Ocean Isle with HBM customer Tom Vicars and crew on board the Bird Dog today. We started out at the Black Jack with a few dolphin, then high speed trolled toward the 100/400. We had one solid hook up, but the fish threw the hooks, as well as a couple more knockdowns. Once at the 100/400, we put the ballyhoo back in and picked up a couple more dolphin as well as a triple header of blackfin tuna. All in all not a bad day on the water. Once the wind lays out mid-week, we'll be back out there, so stay tuned.
Capt. Lyndon

May 7, 2008 The kingfishing is still good at the horseshoe. I have heard reports of kings at the sharkhole/15 mile rock area's as well as the jungle. Reports indicate that the dolphin fishing is getting pretty good now, and should only continue to get better as the month progresses. It looks like it's going to blow for a few days, but we may be able to get back out on Saturday.
Capt. Lyndon
|
May3,2008 Weekend report Friday we kingfished again. The bite was good at the horseshoe with the fish a little larger at about 8 lbs. Sunday, same thing. The fish are moving closer to the beach, and should be in the 65 ft. areas. We're going again tommorrow, so stay tuned. On another note, the dolphin have shown up in the stream finally. The fishing will only be getting better from here, so be sure to book you trip soon. Capt. Lyndon
|
May 1, 2008 Kingfished in the tower area today. The bite was great in the Tower area. We stayed within 8 miles of the tower area. The fishing just continues to improve, and will get closer and closer to the beach as the month goes on. Now's the time to book you spring and summer charters. Give us a call. I'll be going again tommorow, so stay tuned.

| Wednesday April 30, 2008 Today, I took Rick Niesler, owner of the Sea Hag, and a couple of his clients, Matthew and Terry, to the blue water. We started a little inshore of the Steeples on a beautiful rip and temp. break. We hadn't been trolling for long when Matthew boxed a nice 20 lb. dolphin. I figured after that the bite would be on. WRONG. We trolled for a couple more hours with nothing to show, so we decided to change the spread to all lures and high speed troll. I had no more than pumped the throttles up when a nice wahoo hit. It was Terry's turn on the rod, and after a short battle, we had a nice 25 lb. wahoo on ice. We continued to troll with nothing else to show for, but we had 2 nice fish in the boat, so it was a succesful trip. I will be kingfishing tommorow, so I'll post a report tommorow night.

Saturday April 26, 2008 We headed back out to the tower area today in search of more kingfish. We put the hardware in at the tower reef, but the action was pretty slow. At the reef however we did put our first Spanish Mac of the year in the boat, a beauty at app. 6 lbs. We then went to the tower itself, and again slow, inconsistent action. Around lunch, I decided enough was enough, and headed east. While running, I marked what appeared to be bait on the bottom machine, so I turned around on it. When we got back to the area, the screen lit up with the most beautiful piece of live bottome that I have saw in a long time. We put the spoons out to give a shot, and the kings were chewing as fast as we could get them in the water. This spot saved the day. It just goes to show that you should never give up, and to always have a plan b. On another note, Ocean Crest Pier is reporting that they have been catching a few kings since thursday, and started catching spanish today. It is only a matter of time before we have our early run of big kings right on the beach. Capt. Al Davis took his boat, "My Hooker" out to the Shark Hole on Saturday and caught a handful of kings. The fish are definately moving in, so now is the time to come on down and experience our fabulous spring fishing. We have a bluewater charter on wednesday, so stay tuned for my report on wednesday evening. Captain Lyndon

Monday April 21, 2008 Capt. Charles Mcclure and myself headed to the tower area today in search of king mackerel. We stopped about 8 miles inshore and put the drone spoons in. The action was nonstop for the next 1.5 hours. After a while, the action died out to nothing, so we went searching, and picked at them for the rest of the day. We ended up with 54 king mackerel and 2 bluefish about 6-7 lbs. apiece. The actions heating up, as is the weather, so come on down for some fantastic spring action,
Capt. Lyndon
|
Saturday April 19, 2008 Today, Zack Shackelton and myself went to the south to see if the kings have shown up yet. We started at AR 465, which is the Gary Ennis reef, and worked our way to the twin cities wrecks, as well as farther south. There was a lot of bait everywhere, but we only caught one king. We decided to try a little bottom fishing at the twin cities, and was rewarded with fast action on 2.5-3.5 lb. sea bass. With the conditions being what they are down that way, (water being right and plenty of bait), it's only a matter of time before the kings show up in force down there. On another note, HB Marina customer Tom Vicars and crew on board the Bird Dog went east to the Steeples and Same Ole, and found some yellowfin tuna, dolphin, kingfish, and false albacore action. The spring bluewater season is here, so come down and begin the adventure of lifetime. We'll be fishing in the upcoming week, so stay tuned.

Friday April 11, 2008 Today, I had Rick Niesler, owner of the Sea Hag that we will running this year, out for a bluewater trip. While we suprisingly didn't mark any bait or have any bites, we fished from the Black Jack to the Steeples. I say suprisingly because the water was perfect. 77-78 degrees, and gulf stream blue. We did, however, see the first flying fish of the year. This is a very promising sign that the tuna and dolphin will be making a showing any time now. To end the day, we stopped inshore of the tower on the way back, and caught a limit of king mackere in 30 minutes. Everything is shaping up for a great spring season. On another note, we would like to congratulate Dean Spatholt and the Fishmeister team on their win in the Martini's Wahoo Challenge out of Little River with a 66.7 lb. wahoo. Folks, the water's getting right, the winds are wanting to lay, it's time to start thinking of fishing. Come on down and see what fun's all about.

Monday April 7, 2008 Blown out once again. We haven't been on the water in over 2 weeks now, however it looks like thursday and friday are going to be good. As long as mother nature cooperate's, we will be fishing one, if not both days. On the inshore scene, there are still reports of puppy drum being caught, as well as a few flounder. Based on past experiences, as long we have good water, there should be some yft and a few dolphin in the stream. The kings should be thicker than flies on honey at the tower, and possibly even a little closer in. Stay tuned for reports from the end of the week, and remember, the spring bluewater season is here, so give us a shout to book the adventure of a life time.

Sunday March 30, 2008 The March winds have not allowed us to fish this week, however on the inshore front, there have been some whiting showing up, as well as a few red and black drum, and trout. I have a gulf stream charter on board our newest offshore boat on Wednesday, a 31' Blackfin Express, named "Sea Hag". This is an extremely nice boat, complete with head, cabin, heat and air, as well as nice tower. Stay tuned for the report from Wednesday. The weather is sure to break soon, so be sure to book your trips for the spring gulfstream season, which is just around the corner.

Friday March 21, 2008 We fished 2 days this week, but with the full moon and strong blows that we have had recently, the fishing has been less than stellar. The water temp. has been right, but with the water being so stirred up, the kings have not been chewing real hard. We managed a handfull both days, but nothing to brag about. The fish have been mostly well to the east, in 85-100 ft. of water. It looks like we may be getting into a more settled weather pattern next week, so the fishing should really fire off. In the gulf stream, the reports I have been hearing have been cool water and slow fishing, but it should fire off any day now.

Monday March 10, 2008 Went to try for kings again today. The way the sst charts looked, the water was warmer on our side of the shoals, to the west of the tower. The action was slow, but we did manage 8 or 9 kings, up to 18 lbs. Find any structure holding bait with water at least 66 degrees and you should find the kings. The spring fishing is heating up, so why not take a trip with us and get rid of your cabin fever?

| Thursday March 7, 2008 Went back to the east side today in search of king mackerel. The warm water had pushed inshore, so we started about 30 miles off of Carolina Beach. The king and false albacore bite was steady all day, with kings from barely legal, up to about 15 lbs. The weather and fishing will only be getting better, so come on down and take a trip with us. You won't be dissappointed. Capt. Lyndon

March 2, 2008 Headed back to the east of the tower today in search of king mackerel. We had a pretty consistent bite most of the day. Ended up catching 23, with 4 over 20 pounds, the largest right at 28 pounds. They are here in full force, and will be getting thicker all the time. Some boats also caught them right at the tower, but it was a much smaller class of fish, with most being in the 3-8 lb range. Spring is here, the fish are biting, so why not join us for a memorable day on the water. Captain Lyndon

February 29, 2008 Went to the break again today. Started out pulling ballyhoo, but only had one taker, a nice blackfin tuna @ 20 lbs. We went to the bottom, but the current was running so hard that it was hard to fish, so we came in and fished east of the tower. This was one of the hardest day bottom fishing I have had in years. We didn't catch anything but amberjacks on the bottom, but the water east of the tower looked great, so we went kingfishing again, just to see if they were around. We ended up catching 8 kings and about as many false albacore. THEY'RE HERE!!! All in all, a great day on the water. It could not have been a prettier day. Captain Lyndon

| Febuary 25, 2008 Today, we wanted to see if their were any kings around yet. We hit several spots in the 95-140 ft. range, and nothing but false albacore, so we decided to go grouper fishing for the last couple of hours. We headed to 175 ft. of water on the break, and caught 3, one really nice gag @ 28 lbs., and two reds, one 18 lbs., one 12 lbs. We also had a few amberjack. It's only a matter of time, so stay tuned.

Febuary 19, 2007 Hello Everyone, and Welcome To HoldenBeachSportfishingCharters.Com's Fishing Report Page. Due To The Weather, We Haven't Been Able To Fish In A Couple Of Weeks, However, The Sea Bass Bite Continue's To Be Good In 60+ Feet Of Water. The Kingfish Should Be In The General Vicinity Of The Tower, Just Look For 68 Degree Or Warmer Water. The Grouper Bite Continues To Be Good In 120 Feet, On Out To The Break. When Guys Have Made It To The Stream, There Has Been A Few Wahoo And Blackfin Around The Black Jack And Steeples, And It Should Only Be A Matter Of Time Before The Yellowfin Show Up. I'm Going To Try It Wednesday, So Stay Tuned.

February 20, 2008 Just wanted to let everyone know that we were blown out again this morning. We will be trying it as soon as the weather let's us, so stay tuned. There are fish out there waiting to be caught as soon as we can get to them. It is that time of year where patience is a virtue.
